Day Seventeen: North Carolina 25/10/08

Well here we are in North Carolina. We're parked up on the banks of the New River which apparently is the second oldest river in the world. Beaten only by the Nile. It is also apparently one of only two rivers in the world that flows north. We're right in the middle of The Blue Ridge Mountains in a little town called Sparta, and the scenery here is absolutely breathtaking. The forecast for tomorrow is good so the owner of the RV park is going to take us on an expedition down the river in a few canoes (Deliverance style!!). None of us can pick up phone signals and our mobile broadband signal is very weak. So if anybody is trying to contact us don't be alarmed if you can't get through. We'll be here until Monday. The drive down here was grand, although it rained heavily until we got into North Carolina. It cleared up just in time for us to appreciate the scenery. Not much else to write about and we didn't get any videos or pictures but hopefully we'll have a few good ones tomorrow.
